A Little Recognition for Architects

The December issue of Esquire features a “Best and Brightest” article highlighting the work of artists and designers in various fields. James Corner of Field Operations was mentioned for his work on the High Line, as was Winka Dubbeldam of Archi-tectonics. Included in the article is an essay by Tom Chiarella, a man “in search of the future of American design and architecture.” Chiarella’s laymen’s perspective is refreshing, and he gets the opportunity to briefly interview several architects, including the one whom everyone loves to hate, David Childs. Childs is described as a “quiet guy, attentive and kind…”
