…and I am a digital girl. (or boy)
In creating his “Digital Shelter Kit,” Pedro Sepulveda-Sandoval has architecturally reframed electronic disturbance. The Kit consists of self-adhesive warning tape, a Waveshield mobile phone jammer and an instruction booklet explaining its use. An area of ground is marked off with the tape – clearly labelled “Digital Shelter: Stand Inside the Line – and when the device is activated, the person inside becomes unreachable by electronic devices. I think that in a world where digital communication is becoming more and more common, devices like this and the accompanying delineated threshold could potentially become an essential part of future architecture.
