Life Without Buildings: 2006 Serpentine Gallery: an architecture blog

2006 Serpentine Gallery

It's official. Rem Koolhaas will design next year's Serpentine Gallery Pavillion, while the design of fellow Dutchmen, MVRDV, has been indefinitely posteponed due to "technical and financial issues associated with the project." I guess they still have a few things to learn from Rem - like how to get an overbudget, impossible-looking project built and come out smelling like roses.

According to Building Design, Koolhaas is planning to work on a program of films, interviews and debates (debates?) to complement his new pavilion. Will the design continue his pursuit of a Neo-post-modernism? We'll have to wait and see...
