Yep. More Giant Statues featured here at Life Without Buildings. This time, its the Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota, designed by “maverick” sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski.
In homage to Crazy Horse’s answer to a white man’s question “where are your lands now,” the staute depicts the Sioux hero pointing off into the distance from the top of a horse. “My lands are where my dead lie buried.” When complete, the Crazy Horse memorial will stand 563 feet high. So just how big is that? All of Mount Rushmore would be able to fit in Crazy Horse’s head.
