Life Without Random Linkage

  • Everyone’s favorite San Francisco-based artists/activists reBAR have updated their website. Not only does the site have a brand new look but there’s also a ton of information on all their installations/events/happenings. COMMONspace events start up again in January!
  • I found this at the excellent Brand Avenue:

The animation is incredible. Although it’s by no means a new video, this is the first time I’ve seen it, and I was immediately reminded of the work of Chris Ware. I’m also reminded of my job…where I spend most of my day graphically representing things most people never even think about.
  • A Modishly Swinging Manor for the Modern Man: The Playboy Townhouse:

  • “The discerning city-dweller of individual ways and comfortable means is turning more and more to the superb outlets for decorative and architectural self-expression inherent in the town house.”

  • Check out this abandoned hospitable in San Francisco’s presidio.

  • REMINDER: The deadline for Metropolis Magazine’s 2007 Next Generation Design Competition is January 5th.
