Columbus Re-Wired

Some news this week from and about my home state. First, there’s the AIA Columbus, who, in partnership with AIA National, is sponsoring an international design competition focusing on the current and future state of public transportation in the state’s captial.

This IDEAS competition is intended to solicit innovative design solutions and dialogue about the possibilities for the role of public transportation in Columbus, OH focusing on the passenger facilities and transit modes that will re-connect citizens, renew neighborhoods and spark economic development.

August 17th 2007 – Registration Deadline
August 31st 2007 – Submission Deadline


Entries will be published in book form and presented at the 2007 AIA Ohio Convention. For more information, see the Columbus Re-Wired website.

Our current public transit system in Columbus is called COTA (Central Ohio Transit Authority). If you are considering this competition please also consider TACO. Who would not want to ride the TACO?
